Pitch details:
- Facilities with drinkable water? The Edson Axemen pitch is beside the Parkland Composite High School; the school is usually locked on Saturday, so there are no changing or bathroom facilities on site. Occasionally, there are port-o-potties when there are children’s soccer games that day. Plan to change before you get to the pitch – I suggest the Tim Horton’s on Hwy 16 as you arrive into town – or of course change in the fresh outdoors.
- Showers? After the game, the team will invite you to go to the Leisure Centre at 1021-49 Str (about a 2 minute drive away) for shower and a great supper.
- Parking? The rugby pitch shares the parking lot with the high school, and is usually completely empty on a Saturday – unless there is a children’s soccer tournament. If so, the parking is limited and crazy, but the pitch is never a far walk. And if there is soccer, there are port-o-potties. So.
- After the game? The Edson Axemen are great hosts and will treat you to dinner and drinks at the Leisure Centre after the game.
- Other?
- The pitch is in pretty good condition, but in one end zone there is a forested ravine and so the pitch goes fairly down hill in that north-west corner.
- The goal posts are for football, and so have the two cross bars. The conversion is only successful if the ball goes over the higher cross bar.
- The most fun you will ever have is doing the Axemen-Penguin game in Edson on the August long weekend. Yes, the long weekend. The Penguins come down to play, and then volunteer with the Axemen doing security at the largest Slow Pitch tournament in Canada. The best hosting, best times.

The Edson rugby pitch is beside and shares the parking lot of the Parkland Composite High School, so if you get lost ask people for directions to the high school!
