- Facilities with drinkable water? The rugby pitch is the Westwood School field in the Thickwood area of the Fort. The school is usually locked on Saturdays; however, the YMCA shares the parking lot and is always open. The Knights have it worked out that you can go in and change for the game, as well as shower, etc, in the Y for no charge, but do let them know at the front desk that you are here to referee the rugby game and there shouldn’t be a problem.
- Showers? After the game, the team will invite you to go to the YMCA just next door to the rugby pitch to shower.
- Parking? The rugby pitch shares the parking lot with the high school and the YMCA, and is usually pretty accommodating – unless there is a festival or concert that day or evening. If so, the parking is limited and crazy, but the pitch is never a far walk.
- After the game? The Fort McMurray Knights are very good hosts and will offer you dinner and drinks at the local pub.
- Other?
- The pitch is a school field: well used! Though I have never measured, the field seems a bit more narrow than usual. The Knights have to bring the post pads and flags from someplace else in town, so that sometimes will delay the start of the first game of the day.
- The goal posts are for football, and so have the two cross bars. The conversion is only successful if the ball goes over the higher cross bar.

The Fort McMurray rugby pitch is beside and shares the parking lot of the Westwood School and the YMCA, so if you get lost ask people for directions to the YMCA!
