The Cook Off Apron Award is given to the ERURS Member or invitee who, at the ERURS cook off social, is determined to be the creator of the best dish of the afternoon.
A nominee for this award:
- is a participant who made from scratch and with their own hands the best overall dish presented at the cook off social.
- In the late afternoon of the cook off, after all dishes have been sampled and enjoyed, ballots will be distributed among all of the participants and samplers.
- The ballots shall have the categories of: 1) best drink, 2) best appetizer, 3) best salad, 4) best dessert, 5) best presentation, 6) the wooden spoon (for the worst entry – usually store bought!!), and 7) the best overall entry.
- The cook of the item which received the most votes for the Best Overall Entry shall receive the Cook-Off Apron.
- The winner’s name will be embroidered onto the apron for presentation at the following ERURS AGM in January.
- The winner may keep the apron to use with pride, and then return to the VP Marketing by the cook-off social by August 31 of the next year.
